Jaishankar And Australian Foreign Minister Held Bilateral Talks

Jaishankar and the Australian Foreign Minister held bilateral talks, from economic agreements to Ukraine.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar held talks with his Austrian counterpart Alexander Schalenberg on Sunday.

In the virtual summit to be held between PM Narendra Modi and Australian PM Scott Morrison on Monday, the draft agreement on the mining and use of lithium, cobalt will also be discussed.

In this, Australia will also announce an investment of Rs 1,500 crore in India.

Although as expected, the announcement of the trade agreement between the two countries will not be done in the virtual meeting, it is set to be announced at the second ceremony by the end of this month.

Modi’s summit with Marison will be his second meeting within three days with a top leader of another country from the Quad organization.

On Saturday, PM Modi had an annual summit meeting with the Prime Minister of Japan. The issue of Russia’s attack on Ukraine will come up in Modi and Marison’s meeting.

Australia, like Japan, is blaming Russia for this whole incident and has also announced a number of sanctions on it. However, Australia is taking cognizance of India’s stand.

Australia’s High Commissioner to New Delhi, Barry O’Farrell, says that the entire Quad organization is understanding India’s stand.

Every country has its own bilateral relations. It is expected that PM Modi is using his relationship with Russia to end this war situation.

It should be noted that Japanese PM Fumio Kishida also expressed hope on Saturday that PM Modi would prepare Russian President Vladimir Putin to stop the attack on Ukraine.
