Jammu Kashmir PDP: Khurshid Alam Resigned From Party

Jammu Kashmir PDP: Khurshid Alam Resigned From Party. PDP getting broken, Mehbooba’s attempts to handle party affairs failed.

Mehbooba Mufti’s efforts to manage the People’s Democratic Party’s workers and leaders are proving to be unsuccessful.

Once again on Monday, two PDP councilors in Srinagar Municipal Corporation announced their resignation from the party.

Councilor Mohammad Ashraf Butt, who represented Eidgah-51 ward in Srinagar Municipal Corporation, and Farooq Ahmed Mir, councilor of Maharajganj ward, announced to leave PDP.

Both of them are considered close to former MLC Khurshid Alam. Mohammad Ashraf Butt said that we have gone with Khurshid Alam saheb from the beginning.

He was the one who brought us to the PDP. He is no longer in PDP, so we too have decided to separate from PDP.

Let us tell you that earlier on Sunday, former MLC Khurshid Alam and former MLC Yasir Reshi also resigned from PDP.

Former trade union leaders Khurshid and Yasir Reshi, who left the government job for politics, have not made any announcement about what will be their next step after breaking ties with PDP.

Yasir Reshi rebelled against party president Mehbooba Mufti two years ago, has also formally sent his resignation.

Reshi, who hails from the Bandipora district of North Kashmir, said he would consult his workers and well-wishers before deciding his future.

The resignation of these two PDP leaders came after former Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and founding member of the PDP, Muzaffar Hussain Baig, attended the People’s Conference.

Sources say that Alam and Reshi, who were separated from PDP, can also join the People’s Conference just like Baig.

The separation of senior leaders of one party after another in Srinagar and Jammu is increasing the concern of Mehbooba Mufti. She is making every effort to keep the party and its members together.

But all their efforts are failing. Since the removal of Article 370, more than half a dozen senior leaders from the PDP have broken ties with the party so far.
