Karnataka Chief Minister said- not afraid of Coronavirus, I also got infected. Terming Covid-19 (Coronavirus) as the country’s most damaging and deadly pandemic, Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa said that the people of the state are very depressed. They have suffered extensive losses since its outbreak in mid-March.

The Chief Minister said that people should not be afraid of this epidemic as they too have been infected by it. In his address on the occasion of Independence Day, the Chief Minister said, ‘People of the state are desperate. Covid-19 has brought economic and social activities to a standstill. The recession, lack of employment has arisen and the state government has a revenue deficit. ‘

Lockdown Corona not resolved

Yeddyurappa said that although the state government initially implemented a lockdown to prevent it from spreading, economic and social activities stagnated. After realizing that lockdown was not a solution to stop its spread, we started removing it from June 1. Made it mandatory for all citizens to wear masks, wash hands, and maintain physical distance. This was done to bring economic activities back on track and restore normalcy.

Corona influenced every region

He said that communicable disease has affected every region. Life stopped during the lockdown is slowly returning to track. He said, ‘I too got infected by it, but I have recovered. On this occasion, I would like to tell people that people need not fear its infection.

Meanwhile, the highest ever 8,818 new cases of Covid-19 (COVID-19) were reported in Karnataka on Saturday and 114 more people died due to infection. The Health Department said that with this, the total number of infection cases in the state has increased to 2,19,926 and the number of dead has increased to 3,831.

The department said that after recovering, 6,629 patients were discharged from hospitals today. It reported that out of 8,818 new cases of infection, 3,495 are in Bengaluru city alone. On Friday, there were 7,908 cases of infection in the state.
