Kashmir police eliminated three terrorists in seven minutes, these terrorists were involved in the murder of a Sikh principal and Hindu teacher.
Police killed a self-styled area commander of TRF, Mehran, along with two of his accomplices, in a brief encounter on Wednesday night at Rambagh, about three kilometers from Lal Chowk.
Mehran had killed two non-Muslim teachers along with his colleagues in the school premises last month.
Meanwhile, as the news of Mehran’s death spread, tension spread in various parts of the downtown. Some people at the encounter site also raised provocative slogans after the terrorists were killed.
Mehran’s full name, listed among the C-category terrorists, is Mehran Yasin Shala and he is a resident of the Kanimazar Jamalatta area in Down-Town.
Mehran, a synonym of terror, became a terrorist on 18 May this year. He was the area commander of Lashkar-e-Taiba’s hit squad TRF.
He was recruited by TRF’s Operational Chief Commander Abbas Sheikh with the help of his deputy Saqib.
Both Abbas and Saqib were killed in an encounter with security forces in Aluchibagh on August 23.
The place where Mehran was killed and where Abbas was killed, the two encounter sites are about a kilometer apart.
Before joining TRF, Mehran was also involved in the Gujjar Gang, a gang of so-called local goons operating in Down-Town.
Mehran, along with his three other accomplices, had killed two non-Muslim teachers, Supinder Kaur and Deepak Chand, in a government school at Sangam Idgah on October 7.
A foreign terrorist was also among the terrorists who came to carry out this incident.
The police came to know about Mehran during the investigation into the murder of two teachers. The police were continuously raiding all his possible hideouts located in the city.
Apart from all his suspected friends associated with him, the activities of various overground workers of the terrorists were being continuously monitored. Electronic surveillance was also used.

Yesterday afternoon, the police came to know from their system that Mehran was moving in a car in the Rambagh area along with some of his associates.
The news was confirmed and the terrorists or their supporters did not suspect, so the police did not put up any new block, but the police team was kept stationed there as usual.
However, members of the Jammu and Kashmir Police Special Operations Team were in the deployed police force. The terrorists were reportedly traveling in a blue-colored car.
As soon as the car started turning on the road leading to the airport in the Rambagh area, the police team tried to stop the car. Seeing themselves trapped, as soon as the terrorists tried to fire.
