Katra Navratra Mahotsav: This time in the Katra Navratra festival, the procession will come out on the first and last day only.

This time Navratri festival will be organized in the religious city of Katra on the Shardiya Navratri starting from October 7.

Last year the event could not be held due to the Corona epidemic, this time it has been decided to organize this nine-day festival following the Corona guidelines.

The festival is being organized by the Department of Tourism, Jammu, and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board in collaboration with the administration.

On Tuesday, Jammu Divisional Commissioner Dr. Raghav Langar informed us about the various programs to be held during the Navratri festival.

Jammu Deputy Commissioner Anshul Garg, SSP Reasi Shailendra Singh, Director Tourism Department, Jammu Vivekanand Rai were also present in a press conference.

He told that this time in the Navratri festival, instead of going out every day, the procession will go out only on the first and last day.

Apart from this, the eight-day All India Meeting Competition will also be completed in only two days.

The Kavi Sammelan and Humor Sammelan to be held during the Navratri festival are also being organized for only one day.

Following the Covid-19 SOP, the administration has also decided to limit the number of audiences in these events.

This time a glimpse of the Navratri festival will also be seen in Jammu. During this festival confined to Katra, Dogri Food Festival is being organized in Jammu.

It will be organized on October 9 at Gulshan Ground and on October 10 at Jammu Haat.

Katra Navratra Mahotsav: These events will be held in Katra.

October 7: Inauguration: On October 7, the Lieutenant Governor will inaugurate the festival at 11 o’clock in the day.

During this, there will also be a procession which will start from Hotel Surya Palace and will end at Favwara Chowk. 1200 to 1500 people will be allowed to participate in the procession.

Mata Ki Kahani: A dance drama Mata Ki Kahani will be presented by Natrang Theater Group in the auditorium of the Spiritual Center.

This event will be held every evening from the first Navratri to the last Navratri.

From the first Navratri to the last Navratri, a cultural program will be organized in Higher Secondary School, Katra at 8.30 pm every day.

Apart from this, an exhibition on the Amrit Mahotsav of Azadi will also be organized here.

A play will also be staged on behalf of Viraj Kala Kendra every other day on the Amrit Mahotsav of Azadi.

October 8: Prabhat Pheri will be organized at 5.30 am. This event will be held daily. A maximum of 70 people will be allowed to participate in this.

This Prabhat Pheri will pass through Bhumika Mandir, Darshani Deodhi, and Raghunath Temple.

Bhagwat Katha will start in Raghunathji temple. Various storytellers will give discourses in this event which lasts till the last Navratri.

October 9: Garba and Dandiya Night will be organized, in which artists from Gujarat and other states will also participate along with local artists. It will be organized from 5 pm onwards.

October 10: Dangal will be organized in collaboration with the Department of Youth Services and Sports.

October 11: Kavi Sammelan organized in Higher Secondary School, Katra. 12 October: Comedy convention organized in Higher Secondary School, Katra.

October 11 and 12: All India meeting competition will be organized at Yoga Ashram ground. It can hold a maximum of 500 to 800 people.

October 13: Special children’s program will be presented by the NGO Muskaan in the auditorium of the Spiritual Center.

Mata’s Jagran will start from 5 pm in the Raghunath market.
