Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was trying to “buy” 20-30 MLAs of the ruling TRS in the state and bring down his government.

He claimed that Delhi’s ‘brokers’ offered Rs 100 crore each to the sitting MLAs.

Addressing an election rally for the by-election to the Munugode assembly seat, Rao said, however, the original Bhoomi Putra MLAs rejected the proposal.

Hitting back, the BJP said the MLAs are not worth Rs 100 crore and asserted that it has no intention of toppling the TRS government.

Rao, popularly known as ‘KCR’, alleged, ‘You saw yesterday. BJP thinks that KCR is speaking in a loud voice. Let us see his ‘political’ end.

They have sent brokers to buy each MLA for Rs 100 crore. They wanted to buy 20-30 MLAs and topple KCR’s government.

BJP wanted to capture the power of Telangana so that they could implement privatization as per their wish.

The Chief Minister’s statement came a day after three people were arrested and sent to judicial custody for trying to ‘tempt’ four TRS MLAs.

Presenting the four MLAs in front of the people in the public meeting, Chief Minister Rao said that such people are needed in politics.

On the night of October 26, on the basis of a complaint by one of the TRS MLAs, P Rohit Reddy, the cases against Ramachandra Bharati alias Satish Sharma, Nanda Kumar, and Simhayaji Swamy for criminal conspiracy, the offer of a bribe, and under the provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 were recorded.

Offered MLAs to leave TRS and contest elections from BJP.

According to the copy of the FIR, Rohit Reddy has alleged that the accused offered him Rs 100 crore and in return offered the MLAs to leave the TRS and contest as BJP candidates in the upcoming assembly elections.

The Chief Minister said, ‘The four sons of the earth’ MLAs came with me for a meeting today.

A few days ago some touts from Delhi came to buy our Telangana self-respect and offered Rs 100 crore, but our earth sons told them they are not going to be sold.’

Rao said they were buying and selling ‘cattle’ in the open market, and wanted to buy similar MLAs.
