Kulgam Encounter: One terrorist of Lashkar-e-Taiba was killed in a Kulgam encounter, the search operation continues.

Security forces have killed a terrorist in an encounter that started after the terrorist attack on a BSF convoy in South Kashmir’s Malpora, Qazigund on the Srinagar-Jammu highway.

One terrorist is still present in the building.

Although the security forces once again gave the last chance to surrender before the firing in the early hours of this morning, they continued to fire, refusing to lay down their arms.

The firing continues: In retaliation, one terrorist was killed by the security forces while the encounter with the other is going on.

Both the terrorists are said to be of Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist organization. The slain terrorist has not been identified.

Four people, including two security personnel and two civilians, were injured in the encounter that continued last Thursday evening.

After the failure of the attack, the terrorists entered a big building to save their lives. At present, the building is surrounded by security forces from all sides.

IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar and Army’s Victor Force GOC Major General Rashim Bali are themselves constantly monitoring this operation.

The attack on the highway and the subsequent encounter has once again put a question mark on the security arrangements made by the security agencies on the national highway.

Intelligence agencies have also issued an alert for the security forces in view of the possibility of a major incident being carried out by the terrorists during Independence Day.

On Thursday afternoon, two automatic-armed terrorists attacked vehicles carrying BSF personnel in Malpora, Mirbazar Qazigund area on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway in south Kashmir.

Kulgam Encounter: The terrorists opened fire on the vehicles of BSF. But there was no damage to the BSF vehicles and the soldiers sitting in them.

Meanwhile, the soldiers on ROP duty there immediately took their positions and retaliated against the terrorists.

On this, the terrorists fled from there and to save their lives entered a multi-story building located at a distance. There was chaos due to this attack on the highway.

The security forces surrounded the entire area at the same time. All civilian vehicles were immediately evacuated. The highway was closed for general vehicles.

Vehicles going from Srinagar to Jammu and coming from Jammu to Srinagar are being allowed to move towards their destination through nearby connectivity routes.

The security forces rescued the common people trapped there amidst the bullets of the terrorists who had entered the building.

The security forces repeatedly asked the terrorists to surrender, but each time they turned down their appeal by firing from their automatic weapons.

According to local sources, some mischievous elements tried to obstruct the action of the security forces by raising provocative slogans.

They also pelted stones at the security forces to divert their attention and let the terrorists escape.

The security forces exercised full restraint and using mild force, the supporters of the terrorists were dispersed by the violent elements.

Meanwhile, two youths, Sahil Yakub and Shahid Farooq were also injured in the cross-firing.

Police have also confirmed that two youths were abused in the cross-firing. He has been admitted to the hospital for treatment.

During this, a contingent of security forces entered the inner part of the building to kill the terrorists, then it came directly to the firing range of the terrorists.

During this, two security personnel were also injured due to bullet injuries. One of them has been identified as CRPF personnel Umesh Singh son Prabhu Singh resident of Jharkhand.

IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar said that both the terrorists trapped in the building are of Lashkar-e-Taiba. One has been killed while the operation to kill the other is on.

So far, two security personnel and two civilians have been injured during this operation.

The building is very big, apart from this, our effort is not to cause any kind of civilian casualties, so time is being taken to kill the terrorists.
