Lashkar-e-Taiba’s OGW Network Busted In Sopore, 4 Arrested

Lashkar-e-Taiba’s OGW network busted in Sopore, 4 members were caught, and arms were recovered.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police, which is fighting the war against terrorism in Kashmir, has busted a network of overground workers of Lashkar-e-Taiba in Sopore with the help of the Army.

A huge cache of arms and ammunition including four overground workers have also been recovered during this operation.

Police have claimed that on the basis of interrogation of these Lashkar associates, other people who are supporting terrorists in Sopore are also being traced.

According to the information received from the police, on the basis of the information, Sopore Police established a special Naka at Dangarpora Chinkipora along with the soldiers of 22 RR and 179 battalions of CRPF.

During the investigation, the security forces detected suspicious activities of two persons. Before the security personnel could reach them, both of them tried to run away.

The security personnel was already alert, they caught both of them there. On searching them, two grenades were recovered from their possession.

During preliminary interrogation, they were identified as Shakir Akbar Gojri son of Muhammad Akbar Gojri resident of Kulosa Bandipora, and Mohsin Wani’s son Ghulam Mohiuddin Wani resident of Chinad, Baramulla.

When the police took both the arrested persons to the police station and interrogated them, they told that they work for Lashkar.

Lashkar-e-Taiba’s OGW network busted: They were given these grenades to be used against security forces or in crowded areas.

The OGW caught during the investigation said that like him, two other OGW associates in the area have also been given the responsibility for the attack. He is also looking for opportunities.

The police also launched a campaign for his arrest and also arrested two other overground workers.

They have been identified as Himayun Sharik son of Sharik Rashid Dar resident of Gausiyaabad Chinkipora Sopore and Faizan Ashraf Wani son of Mohammad Ashraf Wani resident of Nadihal Rafiabad.

A Chinese pistol, its magazine, 7 live pistol rounds, 25 AK-47 rounds, and other explosive material have also been recovered from them.
