Legion of Merit award signifies India-US strong partnership: Jaishankar.

Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar tweeted on Tuesday that the award of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the prestigious ‘Legion of Merit’ award by the US reflects the strong strategic partnership between the two countries.

The Prime Minister recognized its true potential and guided its progress. The External Affairs Minister hoped that in the coming years, the order of development in the relationship between the two countries will continue.

On behalf of Prime Minister Modi, the Indian Ambassador to the US Taranjit Singh received the award from the US National Security Advisor Robert O. Bryan at the White House.

US Ambassador to India Ken Juster also tweeted and congratulated Prime Minister Modi. Juster said, “We appreciate your commitment to a strong India-US partnership.

The award has also been given to Shinzo AB and Marison, who recognize the shared vision of our leaders in the free and open Indo-Pacific. ‘

India and Japan gave a strong message to China to desist from dominance, said – will compete together.

India and Japan have clearly told China, which is trying to create regional instability and tension with expansionary intent, that both countries will strongly oppose any attempt to change the status quo in the region.

In a telephonic conversation between Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Japan’s new Defense Minister Kishi Nobuo on Tuesday, the two defense ministers jointly expressed this opinion while discussing regional security issues.

Separate statements issued by the defense ministries of the two countries after the talks between Rajnath and Kishi referred to the outspoken discussion on China’s antics of increasing tension and instability in the entire region.

Without naming China, India, and Japan, this statement, clearly put it in the limelight for China’s ongoing efforts to change the status quo on LAC in Ladakh for the past eight months.

In its statement issued by the Japanese Defense Ministry, it was clear that the two Defense Ministers discussed all the regional issues including the East China Sea and the South China Sea.

In view of the current developments, he clearly said that a unanimous message should be sent to India and Japan that such actions will increase tension in the region and both countries will strongly fight efforts to change the status quo unilaterally.
