Maharashtra And Gujarat Have The Most Available Land

Maharashtra and Gujarat have the most available land for setting up industries,70,454 hectares of vacant land in industrial areas.

Due to the non-availability of land, the work of setting up the manufacturing unit will no longer be interrupted.

After surveying about four thousand industrial clusters and manufacturing areas of the country, 70,454 hectares of land have been identified where manufacturing units can be established easily.

This land is in industrial clusters or industrial parks set up in different states of the country, where the infrastructure to set up industries is already available.

For the last year, land identification work has been done by the Department of Industries for the establishment of a land bank under the Geographical Information System (GIS).

According to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, in the last year, 5.76 lakh hectares of 3,996 industrial clusters across the country were mapped.

Under this, 70,454 hectares of industrial land was found vacant, where the industry could be established.

According to the department, information such as the size of land available in the industrial areas of 13 states, their quality, the raw material facilities there, the geographical location have been linked to GIS, so that investors can find land worth investing in any corner of the world.

Most of the land available for setting up the industry is available in Maharashtra and then in Gujarat.

The Department of Industries is also setting up a land bank under the Industrial Information System (IIS) to overcome the hurdle of non-availability of land for setting up industries.

Many states are separately creating their own land banks. Gujarat has also made its land bank public, by visiting its site, any entrepreneur can identify land for setting up his unit.

According to the Department of Industry, mapping of industrial clusters and parks such as textiles, leather, software, engineering, food processing, construction, chemical.

Capital goods, automobiles, electronic hardware, gems and jewelery, medical equipment, metal were done to know the availability of land.

It has been targeted to make the country a manufacturing hub under the self-sufficient India campaign.

The Department of Industries is in contact with more than 1000 companies that want to invest in India or expand their old investments. This exercise is being done to remove the hindrance in investment due to land.
