Maoist violence in Kandhamal: Two youths were killed after being called from home on suspicion of a police informer.

Maoist violence has been witnessed in Maoist affected district Kandhamal of Odisha state today. On suspicion of a police informer, the Maoists tied two young hands and put them to death.

According to the news, 20 to 30 armed Maoists reached the village late Friday night in Bhandrangi Panchayat under Belghar police station of Tumudi Bandh block in Kandhamal district.

First, they called Bhavani Patra, son of the local sarpanch Droopati Patra, sleeping in the Bhandrangi Panchayat office and brutally murdered him by tying his hands and feet.

After this, a swarm of Maoists reached the village of Gochhapada.

After reaching the village, the Maoists entered Hemant’s house and dragged Hemant from inside the house, and threw him to death. Both are said to be murdered on suspicion of a police informer.

After the murder, the Maoists left their posters near the two bodies and fled. The sensation has spread in the area after this murder. The police have seized both the bodies and sent them for postmortem and started searching for Maoists.

Significantly, on September 10, there was a shootout between the police and the Maodis in the frontier Sirki forest of Kalahandi-Kandhamal district.

In this, two SOWG soldiers were martyred in it while five Maoists were killed. Earlier in July, a police-Maoist encounter took place near Tumudibandh station Sirlo. Two Maoists were piled into it.

Similarly, a police-Maoist encounter took place on 5 July in Birla of Tumudiband police station area. 4 Maoists were piled into it. On 6 July, there was again a shootout between the Maoist-police, and a Maoist was killed.

This stirred up the Maoist group and made them restless. Now the Maoists have tried to make their presence known by killing two youths suspected to be police informers.
