After trying his luck in politics, speculation of Dr. Shah Faisal returning to government service has gained momentum, his resignation is pending.

There is a buzz in the local circles that he is being made the Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor in the Ladakh region.

However, Shah Faisal has kept completely silent on this speculation. Originally in North Kashmir, there has been speculation of Lolab Kupwara’s Shah returning to government service since the day of his release.

He never refuted speculation. Their tweets are nowhere to be criticized by the central government. He does not oppose the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act but advises to move forward.

He praises the administrative efficiency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. If the discussion in the local circles is correct, then he is ready to return to government service and withdraw his resignation.

Govt wants him to be appointed outside Jammu and Kashmir for some time. He is therefore being appointed as Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh.

The central government has also reportedly agreed to take Shah back into government service. According to the discussion, many youths of Kashmir have appeared in UPSC examinations, inspired by Shah.

When kept in politics: Dr. Shah Faisal, who was topping the UPSC 2009 exam, started taking interest in politics about five years ago.

He was bitterly critical of the policies of the then central government, especially Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He was also issued a show-cause notice for violation of government service rules.

He resigned from government service in January 2019 and tried his luck in the politics of Jammu and Kashmir. He formed an organization called the Jammu Kashmir People’s Movement.

He was also reportedly preparing to go to the International Court of Justice against the implementation of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act by the central government on 5 August 2019.

He was arrested from Delhi Airport on 14 August 2019. After this, he remained in custody and he was released in June this year. On 10 August, he resigned from his own organization Jammu Kashmir People’s Movement.
