Mehbooba Mufti approached Delhi High Court against Enforcement Directorate’s notice. She has requested the cancellation of the Enforcement Directorate notice.

Mehbooba Mufti, the former CM of the erstwhile state of J&K and the President of the PDP, on Monday moved the High Court of Delhi against the notice of the ED. She has requested the cancellation of the ED notice.

It is noteworthy that the Enforcement Directorate sent a notice to PDP President Mehbooba Mufti under the Money Laundering Act on Friday last and called her to the ED office in Delhi for questioning.

Mehbooba Mufti has been summoned for questioning on 15 March 2021.

According to related sources, Mehbooba Mufti has been summoned in connection with several alleged financial frauds in Jammu and Kashmir Bank during the year 2016-18 in the so-called loan scam and hospitality-protocol department of Jammu and Kashmir.

Mehbooba Mufti approached Delhi High Court: Mehbooba Mufti had expressed her apprehension of the Enforcement Directorate summoning her for questioning in December.

In this regard, she had written a letter to the Director of the Enforcement Directorate saying that she was ready for questioning at any time.

But she will approach the court if she is harassed due to a violation of the rules or if she is harassed due to political misconduct.

People’s Democratic Party spokesperson Suhail Bukhari said in a phone conversation with the media that the summons of the Enforcement Directorate has been sent due to political vendetta.

She has filed a petition in the Delhi High Court for quashing the summons of inquiry sent by the Enforcement Directorate.
