Security forces have killed two terrorists in the ongoing encounter in the Peethseer area of Sopore. The identity of both the killed terrorists is yet to be ascertained.
Security forces have launched a search operation in the area. Due to the ongoing operation, the security forces have suspended internet service to maintain law and order.
Not only this, as a precaution, train service between Budgam and Baramulla was also suspended for the time being.

A joint team of SOG, Army, and CRPF started a search operation late in the night in the Peethseer area of Sopore.
When the terrorists hiding in the area saw the security forces approaching them, they started firing on them.
Before retaliatory firing, the security forces asked the terrorists to surrender but they refused to lay down their arms.
The terrorists should not escape by taking advantage of the darkness at night, so additional units of security forces were called along with lighting arrangements.
Responding to the firing, the security forces evacuated the houses around the place where the terrorists were hiding.
The people living there were shifted to safer places. In the meantime, the terrorists were appealed to surrender several times, but every time the terrorists responded by firing.
Intermittent firing continued throughout the night. IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar said that the terrorists were given full opportunity to lay down their arms.
As the morning progressed, the firing intensified. The security forces last asked the terrorists to leave their weapons citing the family and come out.
When they did not agree even this time, two terrorists were killed one after the other in the firing of the security forces.
Due to the possibility of the presence of terrorists at the encounter site, the search operation of the security forces is going on.
The slain terrorists are yet to be identified. IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar has also confirmed the death of two terrorists. The campaign is still on.
As a precautionary measure, the security forces have stopped internet service in the area so that mischievous elements do not hinder the encounter.
Apart from this, the train service between Budgam and Baramulla was also suspended for the time being as a precautionary measure in view of the ongoing encounter between terrorists and security forces.
