The uneasiness at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti was evident on Sunday on the marginalized People’s Alliance for Group Declaration (PAGD) in the politics of Kashmir.

This statement by former Chief Minister Mehbooba came after the PAGD was suggested to be out of the People’s Conference and some leaders of her own party PDP to reconsider their relationship with the National Conference.

People’s Conference is Sajjad Gani Lone’s party. Mehbooba said that as far as the People’s Alliance is concerned, the initial problems were bound to come.

It has our traditional opponents. It will take time for such an alliance to be organized. In view of the Center’s attack on the people of Jammu and Kashmir, let us unite and there is no other option.

During the district development council elections in October last year in Jammu and Kashmir, Kashmir-centric parties came together and formed the PAGD to stop the BJP.

This included National Conference, PDP, People’s Conference, CPI (M), CPI, Awami National Conference, and JKPM.

Mehbooba has now accepted that it is a challenging time for her party after one of the leaders has left the PDP. Referring to Muzaffar Hussain Baig leaving the PDP, Mehbooba said it was a loss for the party.

It is a challenging time for Jammu and Kashmir. PDP also has such challenges. We will overcome these challenges and become stronger.

Referring to the poor relations with the BJP, Mehbooba said that whoever raised the voice against the wrong action of the BJP would be termed as anti-national.

On the farmers’ agitation and the arrest of some activists, students, journalists, and politicians, the PDP president said that action will be taken against those who speak on anti-people decisions of the BJP.

The country is not under the constitution, but at the will of the center. Raising a voice against the removal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir has become an anti-national and a threat to the security of the country.
