Modi will inaugurate the new building of the Supreme Court in Mauritius. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Jagannath (Mauritian PM Pravind Jugnauth) will inaugurate the building of the new Supreme Court of Mauritius through video conferencing on Thursday.

The inauguration ceremony will include judges of the court, officials of the Department of Justice, and dignitaries from both countries. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, Mauritius was supported by India from the Special Economic Package in the year 2016 under which five infrastructures are to be built there.

Two of these were launched by Prime Minister Modi last year. India gave special economic package in 2016 It is the first infrastructure built with Indian assistance in Port Louis, the capital of Mauritius. In 2019, Prime Minister Modi and the Prime Minister of Mauritius jointly launched the Metro Express and the new ENT Hospital Project there.

In the first phase, the metro express project was completed in the month of September last year, while the work of laying 14 km long metro line is underway in the second phase. Please tell that with the cooperation of India, the construction of a 100-bed hospital started there. In 2016, India gave a special economic package of 35.3 million dollars. The project is completed in a stipulated time and at a lower cost than anticipated. The building is spread over an area of ​​4700 square meters.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs of India, with the financial support given by India, the Supreme Court building there will be completed over time and this will give Indian companies a chance in Mauritius also.
