In Uttar Pradesh, in the meeting of the Yogi Adityanath cabinet, political mercury has gone up after the ordinance was passed against love jihad and conversion.

Samajwadi Party MP from Brassnagar Moradabad, Dr. ST Hasan has requested Muslim boys to consider Hindu girls as their sisters.

He has given this response to the Yogi Adityanath government of the state to bring an ordinance regarding love jihad.

Dr. ST Hasan has said that Love Jihad is a political stunt. In our country, people have the right to choose their own partner. In our own country, Hindus marry Muslims. In addition, Muslims also marry Hindus.

If you go to the bottom of such matters, then you will know that marriages are happy. Here when things go wrong, they start accusing that the boy was a Muslim.

I would request Muslim boys to consider Hindu girls as their sisters. Otherwise, the government will harass them. He has also alleged that the BJP creates distance between Hindus and Muslims whenever elections are held.

The Samajwadi Party along with the Congress have been critical of the BJP government’s move ever since the Yogi Adityanath government approved the Love Jihad ordinance to curb incidents of alleged love jihad.

According to the ordinance passed by the Uttar Pradesh government on Tuesday, there is a provision of punishment of up to 10 years in the case of unlawful conversion and inter-religious marriage with the intention of converting the girl.

According to the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Religion Prohibition Ordinance 2020, a marriage will be declared void if its sole intention is to change the girl’s religion.

According to the official statement, those who will convert in violation of the provisions of this proposed law will have to face a jail term of up to 10 years.

Not only this, if it is found that conversion has been done by coercion, harassment, or deception, the offense will be non-bailable.

In addition, there is a provision in this that if two adults want to get married in a different religion, then they will have to give prior notice to the District Magistrate.

In this way, the focus of the ordinance is to stop the fraud in the name of love.
