Pakistan Has Put Indian Dossier On 26/11 In Cold Storage

Pakistan has put the Indian dossier on the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack in cold storage, despite all the evidence, did not clamp down on the conspirators.

Despite 12 years of the Mumbai attack, the legal process initiated in Pakistan to punish its culprits has not moved even a step further.

The legal process for the investigation by the Pakistani rulers soon after the attack, according to India’s allegations, has been completely stalled for the last two years.

Despite promising India and the international fraternity, no concrete action has been taken by Pakistan against the perpetrators of the attack.

Pakistan put dossier on hold

Pakistan has also put the dossier handed over by India in this context. The report of the Commission constituted by the Government of Pakistan for investigation is also blowing dust in the anti-terror court in Islamabad.

There has been no interaction between India and Pakistan in the last five years to catch and punish the culprits of the Mumbai attack.

The national security advisors of the two countries met for the last time in the 2015 meeting in Bangkok in Mumbai.

The legal process slowed down

A few months later, the Pathankot military base in India was attacked by the terrorists and after that, the relationship deteriorated.

Seeing deteriorating relations with India, the legal process that was going on against the perpetrators of the Mumbai attack in a Pakistani court was also relaxed.

In January 2019, the Federal Investigation Agency of Pakistan told the court that it needed more time to find 19 witnesses and present them in court. There is no information about the court’s action since then.

Ignoring Hafiz Saeed’s crime

Earlier Pakistani agencies had said that they arrested 12 people including seven convicts Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi, Abdul Wajid, Mazhar Iqbal.

Hamad Amin Shahid, Shahid Jamil Riaz, Jamil Ahmed, and Younis Anjum were involved in plotting the Mumbai attack. Lakhvi was also granted bail in the year 2015.

Another conspirator, Hafiz Saeed, has recently been given a 10-year sentence in a case related to other terrorist incidents. But Pakistan has consistently ignored his role in the Mumbai attack.

Strong evidence also denied

Pakistan’s scenario can be gauged from the fact that even the dossier related to the DNA of the Pakistani terrorists who were killed by Indian military personnel in the Mumbai attack has not progressed further.

The dossier handed down by the Indian Home Ministry in 2009 contained DNA samples of all the slain terrorists.

Also included was a confessional statement and a sample of his voice before the court of terrorist Ajmal Kasab who was caught alive.

Now the process stalled

It also had several other important investigative reports submitted to Indian investigative agencies by the US investigative agency.

Pakistan then called these reports concrete and asked them to act quickly. However, its agencies later in their court declared this evidence incomplete.

New evidence was also sought from India. However now all this process is at a standstill.
