National Investigation Agency: NIA registers record of 73 cases in 2022, and arrested 456 people.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) registered a record 73 cases in 2022, which is 19.67 percent more than the 61 cases registered in 2021.

These cases include 35 cases of jihadi terror in states such as Jammu and Kashmir, Assam, Bihar, Delhi, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and West Bengal.

Of these cases, 11 were related to Jammu and Kashmir, 10 were Left Wing Extremism, five were North East, and seven cases related to the banned outfit Popular Front of India.

Also, four cases were related to Punjab, out of which, three were related to the gangster-terror-drug nexus and one case related to terror funding, and counterfeiting.

There were two cases related to Indian currency notes. The counter-terrorism agency also filed 59 chargesheets against 368 people this year and arrested 456 accused, including 19 absconders.

NIA organizes ‘No Money for Terror’ conference.

According to the NIA, it arrested two accused on deportation and one after extradition from abroad.

The NIA said that various courts across India delivered verdicts in 38 cases in 2022 and all of them resulted in convictions. “The overall conviction rate to date is 94.39%,” the NIA said.

The central agency said eight people have been designated as individual terrorists under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, of 2022, and necessary action is being taken against them.

Explain that NIA successfully organized the 3rd Ministerial ‘No Money for Terror’ conference on 18-19 November 2022, in which 78 countries and 16 multilateral organizations participated.

Jammu-Kashmir News: Army killed 172 terrorists in 93 encounters between security forces and terrorists this year.

Additional Director General of Police, Kashmir Range, Vijay Kumar said that there have been 93 encounters between security forces and terrorists in the Valley in the current year.

Of these, 172 terrorists have been killed, out of which 42 are foreigners. This year, 108 terrorists of Lashkar and TRF and 35 terrorists of Jaish-e-Mohammed have been killed.

22 terrorists of Hizbul Mujahideen, four from Al Badr, and three from Ansar Ghazwatul Hind have been killed.

Compared to previous years, there has been a decrease in youths becoming terrorists this year. This year 100 boys have become terrorists.

If compared with the last year, there has been a 37 percent reduction in the number of local youths becoming terrorists. This year, 74 of the local youth who became terrorists have joined Lashkar-e-Taiba.

He told that 65 of the newly formed terrorists have been killed and 17 have been caught. Apart from this 18 are active at the moment. The age of terrorists is also decreasing.

Of the boys who have become terrorists this year, 65 have been killed within just one month of picking up the gun.
