NIA names 5 accused against PFI in Nizamabad case, files charge sheet.

National Investigation Agency on March 16 filed another charge sheet against the banned organization Popular Front of India in the Nizamabad case, naming 5 accused.

The agency filed the charge sheet in a special NIA court in Hyderabad.

The five accused named in the charge sheet are Sheikh Rahim alias Abdul Rahim, Sheikh Wahid Ali alias Abdul Waheed Ali, Zafarullah Khan Pathan, Sheikh Riaz Ahmed, and Abdul Waris.

All the accused have been charge-sheeted under sections 120B, 153A of IPC and sections 13(1)(b), 18, 18A, and 18B of the UAPA Act, 1967.

Earlier in December 2022, NIA filed its first charge sheet against 11 accused in the case after taking over the investigation from Telangana Police in August 2022.

NIA names 5 accused against PFI in Nizamabad case: The Telangana Police registered the case on July 4 last year.

The NIA, however, said that the charge-sheeted accused include trained PFI cadres involved in inciting and radicalizing impressionable Muslim youth.

Also recruiting them into PFI and organizing them through specially organized PFI training camps were found involved in imparting arms training.

Its objective was to carry out violent terrorist activities in furtherance of the conspiracy to establish Islamic rule in the country by 2047.

The NIA said that these PFI cadres misinterpreted religious texts and declared that a violent form of jihad was necessary to alleviate the suffering of Muslims in India.

After being recruited into the PFI, Muslim youths were sent to training camps organized by accused PFI cadres.

Where they were trained to use lethal weapons to kill their ‘targets’ by attacking vital body parts such as the throat, abdomen, and head.

Khalistan supporter and Sikh preacher Amritpal Singh said that he will not apologize for the violence in Ajnala, Amritsar.

In an interview given to a channel, in response to a question asked about the law and order situation in Punjab, he said that on the one hand, the central agencies say that his life is in danger.

On the other hand, the weapons of his bodyguards are being canceled. Amritpal Singh said that this is beyond his understanding.
