NIA to conduct raids on Jamaat-e-Islami’s bases in Kashmir in preparation for war against terror.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is preparing to launch a fresh war against terrorism in the country.

In its ongoing investigation against the banned terrorist organization Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) in the terror funding case, the NIA will raid Jamaat-e-Islami’s hideouts in Jammu and Kashmir next week.

According to the information, these raids continued on August 8 and 9 in Srinagar, Budgam, Ganderbal, Baramulla, Kupwara, Bandipora, Anantnag, Shopian, Pulwama, Kulgam, Ramban, Doda, Kishtwar, and Rajouri districts of Jammu and Kashmir.

NIA sources told news agency ANI that sometime next week, fresh raids will be conducted on the hideouts of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) terrorists and their supporters in Jammu and Kashmir.

NIA to conduct raids: An NIA official said on condition of anonymity that such raids are being planned as NIA investigators have got some more clues related to the case.

“We (NIA) have got new leads during the interrogation of more than a dozen JeI cadres and suspects belonging to the banned organization,” the official said.

Another NIA official privy to the ongoing investigation in the case told that 10 Jamaat-e-Islami cadres and suspects were interrogated at the agency headquarters here for over a week and more than five suspects. Still being questioned.

The JEI suspects, who were questioned by NIA officials in the last few days, are from Ganderbal, Srinagar, Kupwara, Bandipora, Rajouri, and Doda districts, the official said.

“We are looking for some more people related to the JEI case and they will be summoned soon as the investigation is a continuous process,” the official said.
