Non-bailable Warrant Issued Against Parambir Singh

Non-bailable warrant was issued against former Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh in an extortion case.

A Mumbai court in Maharashtra on Saturday issued non-bailable warrants against former Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh and two others in an extortion case.

Earlier, a Thane court had issued a non-bailable warrant against Parambir on charges of extortion. Recently, the crime branch had ordered Parambir to appear for questioning in the extortion case.

But he had not appeared. The crime branch of Mumbai Police had also pasted the notice at Parambir’s Mumbai and Haryana residence.

A case of extortion money was registered against Parambir Singh on 23 July. Later, the investigation of the matter was handed over to the Crime Branch.

In this case, many more policemen are also involved with him including sacked API of Mumbai Police Sachin Waze.

Apart from this, an FIR is registered against Parambir in another case. In that case, also Parambir’s investigation is going on, but Parambir Singh is not seen in Mumbai for the last two months.

He could not even appear before the Enforcement Directorate to record his statement on the complaint lodged by him against former Home Minister Anil Deshmukh.

A few days back, Mumbai Police has also issued a lookout notice against him. Apprehensions are being expressed that Parambir Singh may have gone abroad.

In February this year, he was removed from the post of Commissioner of Mumbai Police only after the case of an explosive-laden Scorpio car parked near the house of industrialist Mukesh Ambani.

A lookout notice was also issued against Parambir Singh recently. Because the police suspect that he can leave the country.

Speaking to reporters, Maharashtra Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil said that there is an apprehension that Parambir Singh may leave the country, but there is no concrete evidence of this.

According to Patil, a government official has to take permission from the government before traveling abroad.

Even the Chief Minister cannot go abroad without the permission of the government. If despite this Parambir Singh goes abroad, it will not be good.
