North Korea Is Busy Modernizing Its Nuclear Weapons: UN

North Korea is busy modernizing its nuclear weapons: UN. The UN expert said that North Korea is busy modernizing its nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles.

Although it has been banned by the United Nations, North Korea has bypassed it and continue to ask for technology and material from other countries for use in these programs.

This information was given by a panel of experts who monitor the sanctions applicable to Northeast Asian countries. The panel sent the report to members of the Security Council on Monday.

It states that Kim Jong Un’s government is producing materials used in the manufacture of nuclear weapons and maintaining its nuclear arsenals.

Last month, a parade held in North Korea caught sight of ballistic missiles hitting submarines and other military equipment, in line with its leader Kim Jong-un’s call to expand its nuclear weapons program.

The panel said, “New short-range, medium-range, submarine and ballistic missile systems were displayed here in the military parade.”

During an eight-day meeting of the ‘Workers Party Congress’ in the past, Kim warned of increasing its nuclear arsenal and developing more advanced nuclear weapons systems, saying that the relationship with the US would depend on its hostile Discards policies or not.

The nation’s most advanced strategic weapons were introduced in the parade, which included submarine-fired ballistic missiles, reported by the government news agency ‘Korean Central News Agency (KCNA)’.

The agency said other missiles that could “completely destroy the enemy” were also introduced in the parade. The Security Council has banned the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea since its first nuclear test explosion in 2006.

It has also curbed most of the country’s imports, limiting the country’s exports so that Pyongyang can be banned from its nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles.
