The injured constable was admitted to the Central Hospital at Gondia.
Police said that the police party was dispatched to the forest of Thakurtola Bhanpur from Godri post to verify the information received by the informants from the Maoists.
On Friday morning, a party of about 20 policemen from Godri Chowki went to the forest to search. When the jawans reached the bottom of the hill, the Naxals attacked in ambush. Constable Lokendra Singh was shot in the throat in the attack.
