China Should Seriously Work With India On LAC Standoff

China should seriously work with India for the complete withdrawal of troops from LAC: Ministry of External Affairs. China should begin the process of withdrawing its forces from all points of confrontation in eastern Ladakh.

China should not try to change the status quo unilaterally on the border. Foreign Ministry spokesman Anurag Shrivastava said this on Thursday. Srivastava has said that both sides should focus on reducing stress and avoid any activity that increases stress.

He said that the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of China has committed three provocative acts on the northern and southern sides of Pangong Lake in the last three weeks. For the first time in 45 years, bullets have been fired on the Line of Actual Control (LAC).

Srivastava said, ‘The Chinese side should take serious steps to stress the border as soon as possible. We hope that China will respect LAC and will not try again to change the status quo unilaterally. ‘

The Foreign Ministry Spokesperson also referred to the agreement reached between the Defense Ministers of the two countries and the Foreign Ministers in their meetings in Moscow. Srivastava said that both sides have agreed to normalize the situation on LAC. He also referred to the case of spying of more than 10,000 Indians by Chinese company Xhenhua Data.

Anurag Shrivastava said that in this case an expert committee has been formed under the chairmanship of the National Cyber Security Co-ordinator, which will investigate and submit the report in 30 days. Srivastava said that the Ministry of External Affairs has also taken up this issue with China.

It is alleged that this company has spied many big politicians in the country. Meanwhile, a spokesman for the Chinese Embassy has said that Xhenhua is a private company and has nothing to do with the Chinese government.

The Foreign Ministry Spokesperson further said that we have traditional support for the Palestinian cause. We expect the resumption of negotiations for the acceptance of a two-state solution.
