An army jawan was martyred in the ongoing encounter between security forces and terrorists at Chermarg in the Zainapora area of South Kashmir’s district Shopian.
However, at the beginning of the encounter, the security forces have also killed one terrorist. There is also a report of another jawan being seriously injured in the encounter.
Officially no information has been given in this regard yet. It is being told that the terrorists hiding in the forest, targeting two army personnel, opened fire on them.

The operation of the security forces is still going on. Even after the death of one terrorist, there is still a possibility of the presence of one to two terrorists in the area.
Security forces have cordoned off the area. The security forces had given them several chances to lay down their arms before they opened fire on the terrorists.
Even after one terrorist was killed, the security personnel gave a chance to surrender to the other terrorists hiding in the area, but they continued the process of firing.
According to the information received from the police, a joint team of SOG, Army, and CRPF, who reached there immediately after the information about the sighting of terrorists in Chermarg, Jainpora, was conducting a search operation.
As the team of security forces approached the suspected spot, the hiding terrorists opened fire on them.
Responding to the firing, the security forces asked the hiding terrorists to surrender but the terrorists continued to fire on the security forces. At present, the encounter is going on.
Let us tell you that within the last three days, this is the third terrorist incident in Kashmir. Earlier, terrorists have also carried out two grenade attacks on security forces in District Shopian and Srinagar.
A policeman Ashiq Hussain sustained minor injuries in a grenade attack on security forces by terrorists at Khwaja Bazar in Srinagar. Apart from this, three shops have also suffered a lot.
At the same time, there was no loss of life and property in the Shopian grenade attack on Thursday evening.
In the Chermarg area of Shopian, where the encounter is going on between the security forces and the terrorists, it is a forested area.
