Order for magisterial inquiry into Sidhra encounter, four terrorists were killed.

The Jammu and Kashmir government has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the encounter in the Sidhra area in December last year in which four terrorists were killed.

According to the order issued by the Additional District Magistrate, Piyush Dhotra, Assistant Commissioner of Jammu, has been appointed as the investigating officer to probe the encounter.

The encounter took place near the police checkpoint at Sidhra on December 28. He will investigate this matter only.

Dhotra said on Wednesday that I have been directed to conduct a magisterial inquiry and submit the report to the District Magistrate of Jammu.

An inquiry has been ordered as per the guidelines issued by the National Human Rights Commission.

The officer said that any person can come to my office and record his statement from today till January 21 to collect the facts of the case and investigate in a fair and transparent manner.

Four heavily armed terrorists going to Kashmir in a truck infiltrating from Pakistan had an encounter with the security forces in which all the terrorists were killed.

Seven AK rifles, one M4 rifle, 3 pistols, and a massive amount of ammunition had been additionally recovered from their possession.

This is how the encounter happened.

Truck number JK 18- 1226 was stopped by the policemen at the Naka around 7.30 am for investigation. The driver fled from the spot after being stopped by the police.

At the same time, the people sitting in the truck started firing at the police. After this, the encounter started. Four terrorists had been killed in this encounter.

After this, security forces personnel, school children, and NCC cadets march past in front of the saluting stage in the parade. There will also be colorful patriotic cultural programs.

Police and paramilitary forces have been deployed around the stadium for the security of Republic Day and the movement of people there has been completely stopped
