US Secretary of State Tony Blinken has slammed Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on the telephone over the matter.

America said in a strong tone that if Pearl does not get justice, then America will take tough action against Pakistan. He questioned the Pakistani foreign minister and said that there is no rule of law in Pakistan.

In 1999, the Indian Airlines plane was taken hostage by the terrorists. After that, the plane was taken to Afghanistan via Pakistan. India released three terrorists to rescue the passengers from the aircraft, one of which is Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh.
