The slain terrorist has been identified as Babar Ali. He is a resident of the Ugra district of Punjab which is part of Pakistan.

At present, the security forces have taken the body of the terrorist and the weapons recovered from the encounter.

The search operation of the security forces is still going on due to the apprehension of the presence of more terrorists in the area.

Last month, on July 24, three terrorists were killed in an encounter in Bandipora. One of them was Altaf Bhat.

Security agencies suspected that Bhat had come to target terrorist-turned-politician Usman Majeed Bhat.

Between April 1 and 6 last year, some youths from Shopian, Kulgam, and Anantnag districts had infiltrated from Pakistan. All of them also went to Pakistan on valid passports.
