Person Confessed to plotting an attack on the White House and Trump Tower.

A South Carolina man was accused of plotting attacks, influenced by the Islamic State group at several locations, including the White House and Trump Tower, the official residence of the US president.

Federal officials reported this on Tuesday. Christopher Sean Matthews, 34, confessed to conspiracy to supply materials to terrorist organization IS in a hearing before a US magistrate judge in San Antonio.

Matthews admitted that he had been conspiring with Texas prisoner Christopher Molina to recruit more people and share bomb-making information in the terrorist organization for attacks from home and abroad since May 2019.

Both were convicted on October 14 in the case. Matthews will be sentenced on March 4 next year. He can be sentenced to 20 years in prison.

He will currently remain in federal custody. Molina is currently in police custody. If convicted, it can carry a prison term of 40 years.

US President Donald Trump has hinted at leaving the White House. Trump on Monday asked officials to begin preparations to transfer newly elected President Joe Biden.

In fact, the head of the General Services Administration (GSS), the federal agency responsible for power transfers, said she would provide Biden with the resources needed to get into the White House.

On the other hand, Trump also insisted that he would continue the fight and win.

Trump tweeted in this regard hours after General Service Administrator (GSA) Emily Murphy wrote a letter to newly-elected President Joe Biden informing the Trump administration that he was ready to officially begin the process of transfer of power.

Trump tweeted, “I want to thank Emily Murphy of the GSA for her dedication and loyalty to the country.” He was harassed. They were threatened and abused.

He said that I do not want this to happen to him, his family, or any GSA employee. He said that our fight will continue and I am confident that we will win.
