PM Modi praised the determination of the armed forces on the northern border in the conference of military commanders, know what said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday addressed a joint conference of military commanders in Kevadia.

The Prime Minister praised him for the determination shown by the Indian Armed Forces in the last year in the context of the Corona crisis and the challenging situation on the northern border.

He called for a holistic approach to speed up decision-making. The Prime Minister particularly appreciated the inclusion of junior commissioned officers and non-commissioned officers in this year’s conference.

The Prime Minister also stressed the importance of promoting indigenization in the national security system.

He said that we have to adopt indigenization not only in the matter of defense equipment and weapons but also in the principles, procedures, and customs prevailing in the armed forces.

Only then will we be able to meet the defense challenges in a better way.

PM Modi said that we should better plan our manpower in the military and civilian sectors. He said that we have to adopt a holistic approach to our security.

The Prime Minister also advised the armed forces to free themselves from legacy systems and practices that have lost their utility and relevance.

Discussing the rapidly changing technological scenario, the Prime Minister also stressed the need to develop the Indian Army as a ‘force of the future.

The Prime Minister said that the country will organize a variety of programs with great pomp when it completes 75 years of its independence next year.

The armed forces should also make use of this opportunity to organize such activities and programs so that the youth of the country can take inspiration from them.

Earlier in the day, when the Prime Minister reached Ahmedabad from Delhi, Governor Acharya Devvrat, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, and Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel welcomed him at the airport.

After the reception, the PM left for Kevadia by helicopter to participate in the conference.

The Prime Minister said that an exhibition was held at the Joint Commanders’ Conference in which some innovations of the armed forces were seen.

This conference of commanders was extremely useful. There were extensive discussions on various strategic topics.

It highlighted the need to make India self-reliant in the defense sector and the government reiterated its support for this.
