Police arrested a fake army officer during a patrol in Samba: Jammu.

Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba district police on Sunday arrested a fake army officer. According to the police, this man was in army uniform.

A police team from Bari-Brahmin police station, while patrolling the Teli Basti area, spotted a man in army uniform moving around under suspicious circumstances, an official press release said.

On inquiry, the said person did not give any satisfactory reply and could not produce the identity card of his army, which raised more doubts about him to the patrolling party.

On continuous interrogation, the accused disclosed that he was not an army officer. The arrested person identified himself as Raman Singh of Jammu.

In this regard, the Bari-Brahmin police registered a case against him in Samba. Further action is being taken by registering a case against the accused under relevant sections of the law.

Further investigation is going on in the matter.

A police spokesman said Raman Singh, a resident of RS Pura, was dressed in army dress when he was spotted by a police patrol in the Bari Brahmin area under suspicious circumstances.

On inquiry, the man could not produce the Army Identity Card and failed to give any satisfactory reply. Singh was questioned by the policemen.

After this more doubts arose about his motive. He later revealed that he was not an army officer and was simply disguised as a lieutenant. Further investigation is going on in the matter.
