Giving information about this matter, the concerned police officers said that this incident took place in Gaya Langate, Handwara late on Tuesday night.

A police squad is stationed there for the security of a temple. Ajay Dhar was also posted as a follower in this squad.

In the evening, the doors of the temple are closed because this area is under the influence of terrorists.

Ajay Dhar did not respond to these warnings, on which the sentry shot him as a terrorist. As soon as he was shot, Dhar fell to the ground.

After this, when the policemen who reached the spot saw his face in the light of the torch, he was recognized.

Blood-soaked Ajay Dhar was immediately taken to the District Hospital Handwara for treatment.
