PSI Recruitment Scam: CID files charge sheet in PSI recruitment scam, accused 34 people including BJP leader Divya Hagaragi.

The CID has filed a charge sheet in the Police Sub Inspector (PSI) recruitment scam case in Karnataka.

The CID has made 34 people accused in the 1975 page charge sheet. ADG rank IPS officer Amrit Pal has been arrested by CID.

After the arrest of Amrit Pal, the state government suspended him. The charge sheet has been submitted to the Judicial Magistrate Court of the first class.

The name of BJP leader Divya Hagaragi is also included in the charge sheet. Hagaragi is the owner of Gyan Jyoti English Medium School.

Further investigation into exam fraud committed at MS Irani College and Nobel exam centers is ongoing.

In its allegations, the CID said that there was the use of Bluetooth devices in the examination hall, manufacture of OMR sheets, violation of examination rules, sale of PSI posts, and destruction of evidence.

These people were arrested.

Apart from Amrit Pal and Divya Hagaragi, her husband Rajesh Hagaragi, Afzalpur Block Congress President Mahantesh Patil, and his brother RD were arrested.

Also, Circle Police Inspector Anand Metri, DSP Mallikarjuna Sali, and Irrigation Department engineer Manjunath Melakundi were arrested in the PSI scam.

CID sources said that Amrit Pal has denied all the allegations against him and he is not cooperating with the investigators.

The investigation revealed that the prime accused IPS officer, who was recruited as ADGP, was in constant touch with DSP Shantakumar through WhatsApp calls.

They had a conversation after the exam and during the tampering of the OMR sheet.

What is PSI Recruitment Scam?

Last year, the recruitment examination was conducted for 545 posts of Police Sub Inspector in Karnataka. After the physical exam, 545 candidates were selected.

After this, the OMR sheet of a candidate went viral. In the OMR sheet, he answered 21 questions while he got 121 marks.

After the matter came to light, there was a demonstration against it, after preliminary investigation by the police, the matter was handed over to the CID.

According to the report, the candidates had given lakhs of rupees to get selected for the post of SI.
