Pulwama Encounter: Encounter continues in Pulwama, one terrorist killed, jawan martyred.
Gunshots erupted at midnight on Thursday in Hanjan, Pulwama in South Kashmir, when terrorists opened fire on seeing the security forces coming towards their hideout.
After retaliation, the encounter has started here. Meanwhile, in the Khudwani area of Kulgam, the security forces have surrounded the entire area on the information of the hiding of two terrorists.
So far, the security forces have been successful in killing one terrorist in the ongoing encounter. Firing is still going on from both sides.
In Pulwama, three to four terrorists armed with automatic weapons were seen at 11.30 pm in Hanjan, Rajpora.
On knowing this, the police, along with the army and CRPF personnel, started a siege of the village. At around twelve o’clock in the night, the terrorists opened fire on the soldiers to break the siege.
The soldiers retaliated while defending themselves and after that, the encounter started. Around three terrorists have been surrounded by security forces.
In the ongoing encounter against the terrorists, 44 Rashtriya Rifles soldiers of the Army have gone to Kashi Shaheed. Earlier, he was admitted to the Army’s 92 Base Hospital in critical condition.
Security forces laid siege to Khudwani.
Meanwhile, two terrorists reached out to one of their contacts in Khudwani, Kulgam. On knowing this, the security forces laid siege to Khudwani.
The officials concerned said that the search was not started as it was dark. At present, all the routes to and from the village have been closed. The search operation has started again with the morning prayer.
Policeman injured in a terrorist attack in Anantnag.
A policeman was injured in a terrorist attack in the Anantnag district of South Kashmir on Thursday.
The terrorists managed to escape after the attack. At present, the security forces have started a search operation to nab them.
Terrorist hiding in a nearby street fired three bullets at a police squad deployed in the Lajibal area of Anantnag at around 9.45 pm on Thursday.
A policeman was injured in this. The terrorist fled from there after the attack. The search operation was going on till late at night.
