A black woman has filed a complaint against the Chicago police. It said that during the shopping mall encounter, the woman was pulled out of the car by pulling her hair.
25-year-old Mia Wright and her family have claimed violation of their rights and have said that the mirror of the car broke down in their eyes due to which they are unable to see with one eye.
Racism in Chicago: In the case, the police said that they had reached there after receiving reports of a robbery in the mall.
Meanwhile, the car of Wright and others passed from there, on which the police suspected that the occupants of the car were present there with the intention of violence.
But Wright says that she went there for birthday shopping with her friends and family but she did not know that the mall is closed.
After this, according to the instructions shown by the police, they were attacked by other cars after leaving the parking lot.
According to a lawsuit filed in the US District Court, “Mia Wright was having trouble breathing during the attack and was very scared because her neck and face were injured by hitting the ground.”
The incident occurred during the last May in turbulent Chicago following the death of Black George Floyd by the Minneapolis Police.
It also states that the police dragged Mia Wright to the ground and during this time the stationery in her hands shattered on the road but despite this, another police officer pressed her neck with her knee.
In fact, the White House in Washington was closed due to the violence that erupted after the death of a black man in police custody. Hundreds of people demonstrated outside the White House to protest the death of George Floyd.
