S Jaishankar said, the rise of China is a big development, but the quad is a timely step.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said on Friday that the arrival of India, Japan, the US, and Australia under the quad or four-nation alliance is a step taken according to the changing times.

He said that it is a reflection of the emerging landscape of the multipolar world.

In response to questions related to the quad at an online conference organized by the Public Affairs Forum of India (PAFI) on Friday, Jaishankar said that the rise of China is a major geopolitical development.

Jaishankar said that Quad is a step taken in time and we will have a more divided world and a more scattered world. This special organization of Quad countries will work together.

Regarding the changing dimensions in the global power equation over the last few decades, including the period of the Cold War and the period of Western domination, Jaishankar said that the world was moving towards a more multipolar world.

Foreign Minister S Jaishankar said that the rise of China is a major geopolitical development. In times to come, a world divided into many camps will form its own logic.

In this, India will express itself in a very different way. Today’s glimpse is seen in an example like the Quad. The Quad is not the only example where four countries have found it useful to discuss issues of common interest.

Apart from this, while addressing a program on Friday after the release of a commemorative stamp on the completion of 75 years of the United Nations abroad.

The Foreign Minister said that as a founding member of the United Nations, India has done a lot for the success of the global body.

The Department of Posts also issued commemorative postage stamps in 1954, 1985, and 1995 on the ninth, 40th, and 50th anniversary of the United Nations.

Meanwhile, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu said on Friday that now the time is different from 1962. The state and the Indian Army will never back down, no matter how many times China tries to stake its claim on the region.

In fact, Chief Minister Khandu was speaking at an event in Bam La, a pass on the Indo-Tibetan border in Arunachal Pradesh, to honor a soldier who was martyred while fighting in the 1962 Indo-China war.
