Security beefed up in the Jammu city, patrolling intensified in border areas.

Security is being beefed up across the state for Republic Day. Nakas is being set up at various places in Jammu city and police, the army, and BSF have intensified their patrolling in the border areas.

Apart from this, the security forces are also keeping a close watch on the Jammu-Pathankot and Jammu-Srinagar national highways so that no suspects are able to commit any crime.

A high-level meeting of top officers of Police, CRPF, and BSF was held in Jammu on Saturday regarding the security of Republic Day celebrations.

The meeting was presided over by IGP Jammu ADGP Mukesh Singh.

He directed the officers to keep a close watch on the security arrangements in their respective areas and strengthen the security in collaboration with the agencies concerned.

He directed all the security agencies and the officers of the security forces to ensure the security of Republic Day in harmony with each other.

So that the terrorists could not take advantage of the negligence and carry out any incident.

Instructing the police stations and outposts of the border areas to be more alert, he said that the terrorists are trying to infiltrate and carry out any major incident.

Intelligence agencies have also indicated this, so there should be no scope for any negligence or laxity.

The IGP directed the hotels of Jammu city to search and keep information about the people staying there.

Security will be increased in the vicinity of the stadium, the meeting was also discussed regarding the security of MA Stadium, the main venue of Republic Day celebrations.

Apart from keeping the stadium under the strict guard of police and CRPF from now on, instructions were given not to let anyone inside without permission till the end of the ceremony.

Apart from this, instructions were also given to the police to patrol the areas around the stadium by making blockades.

Officers from various sections of police including CID, traffic, security, etc. also participated in the meeting.
