Shimoga Blast: Many workers died in the blast, PM Modi expressed grief, CM orders a high-level inquiry.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the traumatic incident in Karnataka’s Shimoga district. On Thursday night Shimoga, a bomb exploded in a stone mine filled with trucks.

Eight people are said to have died in this blast, but so far only 2 laborers have been officially confirmed. The explosion was so strong that shocks were felt in the surrounding area.

In such a situation, people felt that the earthquake was causing tremors. This morning, police and senior officials inspected the blast site at Hunsondi village in Shimoga district.

Tried to know what was the cause of the accident. During this, Shivamogga MP B.Y. Raghavendra was also present on the spot.

Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa has ordered a high-level inquiry into the incident. The entire area has been sealed in view of security.

District Collector of Shivamoga KB Shivkumar said, “Initial investigations have so far found that there were explosives in the car parked here. It is being ascertained why he was brought here.

So far we have recovered 2 bodies. It is being circulated publicly that 10-15 people have died in the blast, but this is not substantiated by any facts. The police have started investigations, they have made little progress.

He told that we have enlisted the help of the bomb disposal team to know why this incident happened. The incident happened at night, so no staff was working here. All employees are safe. We are trying to find out who was with the car parked.

CM BS Yeddyurappa tweeted, “High-level inquiry has been ordered into this unfortunate incident and strict action will be taken against the culprits”.

PM Narendra Modi has also expressed grief over this incident. It was very sad to hear of the Shivamoga incident. Condolences to bereaved families. Pray to God to heal the wounded soon. The state government is providing all possible help to the affected.

According to police, the explosives were being transported for mining purposes. There was a blast at one place of breaking the stone at around 10.30 pm. The tremors were also felt in Chikkamagaluru and Davanagere districts.

The explosion was so strong that the window panes of the houses were broken and the roads have also cracked. However, no official information has been provided as to how the blast occurred and is responsible for it.
