Singapore Open 2022: PV Sindhu enters the final of the Singapore Open by defeating Kawakami of Japan.

India’s only hope at the Singapore Open 2022, PV Sindhu, continues her journey to victory. In the semi-final match played on Saturday, they made a place in the final by registering a resounding victory.

In the semi-final match, she defeated Japan’s Seina Kawakami in straight games with scorelines of 21-15 and 21-7 to reach the final.

Sindhu’s dominance against Kawakami can be gauged from the fact that in the first game, where she hit 4 consecutive points against her opponent, in the second game.

She took 8 consecutive points to increase the point gap so much that Kawakami had a comeback. There is no chance left.

Kawakami was not given a chance in the second game.

In the first game, Kawakami also showed some struggle but in the second game, Sindhu showed great aggression in her game and unilaterally made the game 21-7 in her favor.

The final match of the Singapore Open will be played on Sunday. In the final, Sindhu will face the winner of the other semi-finalist.

The second semi-final match will be played between Aya Ohori of Japan and Wang Zhi Yi of China.

Saina and Prannoy were defeated in the quarter-finals.

Earlier, in the quarterfinal match, Saina Nehwal, HS Prannoy, and in men’s doubles Arjun and Dhruv Kapila had to face defeat. Saina lost to Aaya Ohori while HS Prannoy lost to Kodai Naraoka.

Talking about the men’s doubles, the pair of Arjun and Dhruv Kapila also lost to the Indonesian pair in the quarterfinals. The Indonesian pair defeated the Indian pair by 10-21, 21-18, and 21-17.

World Athletics C’ship 2022: Murali Sreeshankar became the first athlete to reach the final of the long jump, Avinash also qualified.

Good news has come out for India in the ongoing World Athletics Championships in Oregon.

In fact, India’s Avinash Sable and Murali Sreeshankar have qualified for the final. Avinash Sable in 3000m steeplechase while Sreeshankar has made it to the final of the long jump.

Sable made it to the final with a timing of 8:18.75. On the other hand, Sreeshankar made place in the final by jumping 8 meters.

With this, he has become the first long jumper from India who has made it to the final in this championship.
