Students wearing saffron scarves reached class to protest against the hijab in Karnataka.

A section of students at the Government Degree College in Kopa, Karnataka, entered a class wearing saffron-colored scarves to protest against Muslim girls who were allegedly wearing hijabs.

The Balagadi Government Degree College allowed the students to wear saffron scarves and asked the girls not to wear the hijab.

However, the college has now allowed everyone to wear whatever they want till January 10.

College principal Ananth Murthy said the administration will hold a meeting of parents and teachers on January 10.

Representatives of the public will also be involved in this. The decision taken on this will be binding on all.

Vinay Koppa, a second-year student of B.Com, alleged that Muslim girls were coming to the college wearing hijab.

While a similar controversy had taken place three years ago and it was decided that no one would come wearing hijab.

Six students of Telangana Medical College were suspended for ragging.

Six students of Telangana’s Suryapet Medical College were suspended for one year for ragging a junior student.

The Director of Medical Education on Tuesday issued an order suspending these students for one year. These students of the 2019-2020 batch have also been asked to vacate the hostel.

Five of these students were arrested by the police on Monday. The ragging incident took place on the night of January 1.

Last month, a case of ragging came to light in an orphanage in Rajasthan.

Two teenagers were taken into custody by the police on charges of raping eight children, aged between eight and 10, living in an orphanage in the capital Jaipur.

In the investigation of the Kotwali police station of the city, it came to light that three juveniles were misbehaving with the children in the name of ragging.
