Target Killing Case: 540 People Detained By Police

Target Killing Case: 540 people including old stone pelters and former terrorists detained, 40 teachers called for questioning.

JKP, engaged in exposing the terrorist conspiracy to kill non-Muslims in the Valley and nabbing the killers, has detained around 540 people for questioning in coordination with central agencies.

These include many old stone pelters, former terrorists, guides of terrorists, activists of banned Jamaat Islamist and separatist organization Tehrike Hurriyat Kashmir.

Although the NIA has not yet officially taken over the investigation, according to sources, an NIA team is also interrogating the detained elements.

NIA has also summoned 40 teachers working in various government schools in Srinagar city for questioning.

Three of them are teachers of the same school where a Sikh teacher Supinder Kaur and teacher Deepak Chand were killed by terrorists on Thursday.

To avoid any lapse in the investigation, the Union Home Ministry has sent a team of high officials of the Intelligence Bureau, RAW, and NIA to Kashmir.

This team is engaged in gathering clues by holding frequent meetings with senior officers of Jammu and Kashmir Police and officers probing the recent terrorist incidents.

Target Killing Case: Last week, terrorists selectively killed four non-Muslims in Srinagar.

These include Makhan Lal Bindru, a famous Kashmiri Pandit drug dealer from Kashmir, Virendra Paswan, from Bihar, Supinder Kaur, principal of Boys HS School Sangam Idgah and Deepak Chand.

After these killings, once again the remaining minorities in Kashmir have started migrating.

The terrorist organization TRF, which is called the Hit Squad of Lashkar-e-Taiba, has claimed responsibility for all these killings.

Many new terrorists and sleeper cells are ready in Srinagar, Pulwama, and Shopian: TRF has created terror in the valley for the last two years.

Most of the civilian killings have been carried out by this organization. The names of terrorists of this organization have also come in many incidents of attacks on security forces.

In the last week of August, TRF commander Abbas Sheikh was gunned down by security forces along with his deputy in Srinagar. Even after that, the activities of TRF are not stopping.

Target Killing Case: It is believed that Abbas Sheikh had created many new terrorists and sleeper cells in Srinagar, Pulwama, and Shopian.

Some of them have been active and the police are hopeful that many of those detained for questioning have their addresses.

Through these people, the police are trying to reach out to the terrorists targeting the minorities and common citizens in the valley.

Questions began to arise on the claims of normalcy in Kashmir: Sources said that no new clues are being found about TRF in the hands of the police.

After these incidents, people have started raising questions openly on the claims of the central government that the situation in Kashmir is normal.

Sources said that on the basis of inputs from other security agencies and intelligence agencies, the police have prepared a list of suspicious elements in the entire plaintiff.

About 540 people included in this list had been detained for questioning till Saturday evening.

Target Killing Case: Apart from these, 40 government teachers have also been identified for questioning.

Of these, 70 in Srinagar, 45 in Ganderbal, 65 in Pulwama and Shopian in South Kashmir, 20 in Anantnag, 26 suspected youths of Kulgam have been detained.

Apart from these, a large number of suspicious elements have also been arrested from Baramulla, Bandipore, and Handwara.

Most of them are old stone pelters or have worked as overground workers for terrorists.

Apart from these, many people associated with Tehrike Hurriyat Kashmir and Jamaat-e-Islami have also been summoned to various police stations for questioning.

Many old terrorists are also being interrogated.

Target Killing Case: Hand of new terrorists in the latest incidents.

A senior Jammu and Kashmir Police officer said on the condition of anonymity that during the investigation of these killings it has come to know that most of the killings have been carried out by local youths who have recently become terrorists.

Many of them have not even been declared to be terrorists to date.

Apart from this, during the last few years, Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI has also created some small terrorist organizations which are active in different parts.
