Tension after bloody clash between Assam-Mizoram, two companies of CRPF deployed; home ministry has kept watch.

The situation remains tense after the bloody conflict between Assam and Mizoram. In Monday’s clash, 6 Assam Police personnel have been martyred, while more than 50 people have been injured.

On Tuesday, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma met the policemen who were injured in the border clash at Silchar Medical College and Hospital and directed them for good treatment.

After this, the Chief Minister paid tribute to the policemen who lost their lives in the struggle.

According to Assam minister Parimal Suklabaidya, around 80 people were injured in the firing by Mizoram.

Suklabaidya said, “Six Assam Police personnel have been killed and around 80 people have been injured in the firing.

There was no firing from our side. The firing was done from Mizoram like the firing done by the British in Jallianwala Bagh.

The issue of Assam-Mizoram will be raised in Parliament today during the monsoon session.

Congress Deputy Leader Gaurav Gogoi in Lok Sabha gave Adjournment Motion Notice to discuss the Assam-Mizoram border conflict.

Congress, on the other hand, constituted a 7-member committee to visit Cachar and other areas to assess the violence. Assam Congress President Bhupen Bora will head the committee.

Tension after bloody clash: Two companies of CRPF deployed.

The Central Reserve Police Force has deployed two companies of CRPF (119 battalions in Assam and 225 battalions in Mizoram) at the Lailapur-Vairengte disputed site between Assam and Mizoram.

CRPF ADG Sanjeev Ranjan Ojha told that both the companies of CRPF from these 2 different battalions were already present with the police forces of Assam and Mizoram but they were neutral.

Ojha further informed that the CRPF was directed to control the situation between 4 pm and 4:30 pm.

War of words between chief ministers.

A war of words broke out between Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga and his neighboring Assam counterpart Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Both blamed each other’s police for the violence and sought the intervention of Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Mizoram Home Minister Lalchmalliana on Monday claimed that around 200 Assam Police personnel forcibly crossed the border.

In contrast, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday reported that six Assam Police personnel have lost their lives on the Assam-Mizoram border guarding the state’s constitutional boundary.
