Terrorists attack a police station in southeastern Iran, killing one officer; skirmishes continue.

A group of terrorists carried out a suicide attack on a police station in southeastern Iran, killing an officer. Government TV has given this information on Saturday.

An armed group attacked a police station and killed a policeman in Zahedan, a city in Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan province, some 500 kilometers southeast of the country’s capital Tehran.

Two People Blasted.

Reports said the terrorists were armed with suicide belts and two of them detonated their explosives.

At present, no detailed information has been given about this. According to local news, clashes are still going on there.

A suicide attack has happened before.

Even before this, there was a suicide bomb attack in the southeastern part of Iran, in which about 27 Revolutionary Guards were killed.

The attackers attacked a bus carrying Revolutionary Guards in Sistan-Baluchistan province. Also, more than 20 guards were injured in this attack.

Iran executes two men for deadly attack on Shrine.

Iran executed two people Saturday in connection with an attack on a Shiite shrine that killed at least 13 people in October and was claimed responsibility by the Islamic State terrorist group.

The official news agency IRNA reported that the two were hanged at dawn in the southern city of Shiraz.

According to Iranian media, the men said during the trial that they had links to the Islamic State in neighboring Afghanistan and that they helped organize the attack on the Shah Cheragh shrine in Shiraz.

CCTV footage shown on state television showed an attacker hiding a gun in a bag entering the famous temple and opening fire as worshipers tried to flee and hide in the hallways.

The shooter, identified as a Tajik citizen, later died in hospital from his injuries in the attack. Officials initially said 15 people were killed in the attack, but later revised the number to 13.

The Islamic State, which has posed a security threat across the Middle East, has claimed responsibility for earlier violence in Iran, including deadly double attacks in 2017 that destroyed parliament.

The mausoleum of the founder of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, was also targeted.
