In Tamil Nadu, the death toll due to fire in the firecracker factory has increased from 16 to 19. The fire broke out in the firecracker factory near Sattur in the southern district.
All those injured in this accident are undergoing treatment at a nearby hospital. Police said the blast occurred in the factory located in Achanakulam village when some chemicals were being mixed to make crackers.
The injured have been admitted to the hospital for treatment. On this incident, Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Palaniswami, Governor Banwari Lal Purohit, and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi expressed grief.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced the assistance of two lakhs from the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund to the relatives of the deceased.
Chief Minister Palaniswami has also announced a grant of Rs 3 lakh from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to the kin of the deceased.
Palaniswamy ordered an inquiry into the incident and assured that appropriate legal action would be taken in the case. The factory building has been badly damaged due to the explosion.
Prime Minister Narendra expressed grief over the accident and said that the fire incident in a firecracker factory located in Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu is sad. My condolences to the families of the victims in this hour of grief.
