Top General of the US Army Mark Milley has a telephone conversation with Russia’s Chief of General Staff Valery Gerasimov.

The US Army has given this information on Thursday.

A spokesman for Milley, chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, said the military leaders discussed a range of security-related issues and agreed to keep the lines of communication open.

The spokesperson also said that the specific details of their conversation will be kept private as per the previous exercise.

Last week, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin spoke with his Russian counterpart. The talks between the two top officials were the first since Russia launched an invasion of Ukraine in February.

Macron urged European leaders to “expeditiously pursue” Moldova’s application to join the European Union.
