Transit Residential Facilities Being Built In Vandhama Village

Transit residential facilities are being built in Vandhama village for displaced Kashmiri Pandits.

Who can forget, the night of 25 January 1998. Terrorists had massacred 26 innocent Kashmiri Pandits in the Vandhama village of Ganderbal district of Kashmir.

Transit housing facilities are being prepared at a cost of 80 crores in Ganderbal and Bandipora for the displaced Kashmiri Hindus seeking government employment to return to the plaintiffs.

672 flats are being built for displaced Kashmiri Hindus in these two districts.

About 60 percent of the work of transit residential facilities being built in 30 canals in Vandhama village of Ganderbal has been completed.

At the same time, 25 percent of work has also been completed in Odina of Bandipora.

On Wednesday, Basir Ahmed Khan visited both the places along with the concerned officers and directed them to complete the work within the stipulated time period and also asked them to ensure the quality.

The Chief Engineer, Road and Building Construction Department told the Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor that 12 towers are being constructed on a 30-Kanal plot in village Vandhama, Ganderbal.

Each tower will have 16 flats and a total of 192 flats will be built. 23 crore has been sanctioned for this project. RCC (cement etc.) work has been done in all 12 towers.

A steel sheet roof has also been put on the upper floors of the two towers. Apart from this, brickwork is going on.

Ganderbal will have this facility: A two-story shopping complex, a two-story community building, a security bunker, a watchtower will also be built in the transit residential complex of 192 flats.

The boundary wall of the entire residential complex will also be there.

480 flats will be ready in Bandipora: Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor also took stock of the under-construction residential facility at Odina in district Bandipora.

The concerned officials told him that 480 flats would be prepared in 30 blocks in Odina. Each block will have four stories.

Each block will have 16 flats and will also have a lift facility. A number of Rs 57.60 crore has been sanctioned for this project.

He also met representatives of various social and political organizations of both the districts and listened to their problems and issues.

During this, while emphasizing adopting the friendly behavior of the Covid-19 protocol, he said that the next 100 days are very sensitive. Vigilance is necessary to prevent the third wave of corona infection.

During this, he asked the Panchayat representatives to identify the land with the help of the district administration to develop a playground in each village.
