Tripura Violence, Section 144 imposed in Laxmipur and Kailashahar for disturbing the peace in two separate incidents in Tripura.

Unakoti Police said that in Kailashahar yesterday, unidentified miscreants ransacked the Kali temple in Laxmipur. The ABVP leader was attacked by NSUI and Trinamool Chhatra Parishad activists.

In fact, during a rally of Vishwa Hindu Parishad in North Tripura district on Tuesday evening, a mosque in the Chamtila area was vandalized and two shops were set on fire.

The VHP had organized a rally to protest against the recent violence against Hindus in Bangladesh.

Section 144 was imposed in the area.

Shortly after the incident, Unakoti DM UK Chakma said that the accused in the stabbing incident in Kailashahar have been arrested. Section 144 is in force in the area and the situation is under control.

He appealed to the people to follow the law and not to spread rumors or believe them.

The Tripura government on Friday said that outside anti-social elements conspired to create unrest in the state and tarnished the image of the state by circulating a fake picture of a mosque burning on the internet media.

State Information and Culture Minister Sushant Choudhary said, the police investigated and found that no mosque has been burnt at Panisagar in North Tripura district, as claimed in an internet media post.

Earlier, a senior police officer had said that during a rally of Vishwa Hindu Parishad, a mosque in the Chamtilla area in Panisagar was vandalized and two shops were burnt on October 26.

The rally was taken out to protest the violence against Hindus in Bangladesh.
