The meaning of Ardhanarishvara’s form is that it is half male and half female. The Ardhanarishwar form of Mahadev shows the equality of men and women.

The form of Ardhanarishvara indicates that both men and women are two sides of the same coin. Without the other, neither of them is complete.

On the request of Lord Brahma, Lord Mahadev took the form of Ardhanarishwar for the creation of man and woman. After this, Bholenath appeared to Lord Brahma in the form of Ardhanarishwar.

In such a situation, Lord Brahma saw Shiva in the form of a woman i.e. Shakti in one half and Shiva in the other half.

Through the darshan of Ardhanarishwar form, Mahadev inspired Brahma ji to create fertile creatures.

This is recognition.

There is a religious belief that by worshiping the Ardhanarishwar form of Lord Shiva, the seeker gets auspicious results and gets the blessings of both Shiva and Parvati, and all the wishes are fulfilled.
