Broken National Highway, ruined houses, and a very calm river – this was the view of the foothills of Manali on Wednesday morning.

Drone footage showed the terrible devastation caused by the flood. Many bridges and cars in the state were washed away in the flood. Due to this tragedy, many people have also lost their lives.

However, it seems from the video that nature’s anger has calmed down, the clouds have dispersed and a clear blue sky is visible.

After heavy rains and landslides in Himachal Pradesh, the officials started taking stock of the devastation in the state on Tuesday.

The death toll in rain-related accidents in the state has risen to 31. Around 1,300 roads were blocked due to landslides and floods while 40 major bridges were damaged.

According to Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, about 40 shops and 30 houses were washed away in the Sainj area of Kullu alone.

Sukhu today conducted an aerial survey of the Kasol, Manikaran, Kheer Ganga, and Pulga areas.

State’s Acting Director General of Police (DGP) Satwant Atwal said that 31 people have died due to heavy rains in the last three days.

He said that 250 tourists were stranded in Chandratal in Lahaul and Spiti districts, while 300 in Sissu and 300 in some parts of the Mandi district.
